Gizzae (Reggae)
5:00 p.m.
Hailing from the beautiful Caribbean island of Dominica, the Ancient and Holy Lands of Ethiopia, and the South Side of Chicago, comes the award winning reggae music of Gizzae.
Rocket, Ruphael, Clem, Evans and Ralph have over 100 years of musical experience collectively and a combined 4 Grammy® awards playing and recording professionally with such acts as:
Ziggy Marley, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Third World, Toots and Maytals, Burning Spear, Carly Simon, The Talking Heads, Rita Marley, Judy Mowatt, Chachi, Sam Ghansah, Moja Nya, Dallol, Rude Beat Society, The Mighty Baron of Trinidad, Bell Combo and many others.
Working and playing with such a vast array of musical styles and talents has enabled Gizzae to create a unique blend of Roots Reggae.
Gizzae's brand of reggae is always backed with strong guitar riffing, pads and ambient vibes from the dual keyboardists.
Some songs are heavily influenced by Soca and Calypso and other genres such as jazz and even rock. Just when you think you've heard everything Gizzae has to offer, the band instinctively and seamlessly transitions into blues reggae finale to satisfy the organ and guitar solo fans.
Formed in 1992 after the breakup of Dallol (Ziggy Marley's Touring Band) and Moja Nya (New York), Gizzae soon became a fan favorite in the Chicago and Midwest reggae scene. A Sunday night staple at the fledgling Wild Hare, fans started to come out to hear this new reggae band in force and 15 years later, they still rock the house every Sunday night.
If you like live jams and wicked solos, come dance the night away with Gizzae!

Mr. Myers (Tropical/Beach Rock)

Modern Day Romeos (Pop/Rock)
9:30 p.m.
Over nine years and close to 500 shows ago, the Modern Day Romeos formed to become the quintessential party band. Based out of Chicago's Northwest Suburbs, all five members came together from different backgrounds to create a brand new band, with a brand new style and continue to do so to this day. Modern Day Romeos will provide you with a high energy show, and take you on a musical journey...playing past and present hits with that strong backbeat you just can't miss. MDR continues to play before impressive crowds and have an extensive contact list through a massive online presence. MDR has been blessed to have shared the same stage as Vince Neil, Slaughter, Jimmy Van Zant, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Lucky Boys Confusion, and countless other local bands. MDR with many media outlets including: 95.1 WIIL Rock, 102.3 XLC FM & 1220 WKRS and countless magazine and newspaper publications.
THE SONGS
The musical selection of MDR is about as wide as it gets. The spectrum includes motown classics, classic rock treasures, metal anthems, 80's favorites, 90's gems, and the top hits of the 2000's. We alter most of the songs to our own style and add a lot of comedy and medleys to make your favorite songs new to you again. Our fan base ranges from 21 to 61 on a regular basis and we want to make sure we have something for everyone. Our challenge this year is to continue writing original music and have it available on iTunes by the end of the summer.
THE EXPERIENCE
Put on your partici-pants!! MDR strives to be the most entertaining band you will see. Jim is in the crowd half of the time, separating them and assigning singing parts and leading a "bad dancing" competition, while Justin is showing off his majestic cowbell moves. Even if you attend by yourself, we will make sure that you meet the people next to you and high five and cheers the rest. We don't want you to come see a show, we want you to be a part of it.
THE VENUES
We do our best to accommodate any size group of people or situation. MDR has played everything from graduation parties to weddings, to sand bar parties in the middle of a lake, to festivals in front of thousands of people throughout Illinois Wisconsin, and Indiana. We also have remained a top drawing band in almost all of the indoor venues we've have played for over 9 years.
